Why We're Going
MoveCo is based in Lewisville, just down the road, and Lake Dallas is part of our home community. Plenty of the families we help move live in the Lake Cities area. Trunk or Treat is a simple way for us to say thank you and to be a good neighbor. Kids get candy, parents get a safe place to celebrate Halloween, and we get to meet the people who make this area such a great place to live.
So keep an eye out for the moving truck. Bring your little ghosts, superheroes and princesses by, and we'll have candy ready.
A Little About Lake Dallas
Lake Dallas sits on the shores of Lewisville Lake in southeastern Denton County, about ten miles south of Denton. It's one of the four communities known as the Lake Cities.
The town has a long history. People settled the area in 1852, and the community was first called French Settlement, after the French family who lived there. In 1881 it took the name Garza, around the time the Dallas and Wichita Railway built through the area. After the original Lake Dallas was created in the 1920s, residents renamed the town Lake Dallas. That lake was later covered by the waters of the Garza-Little Elm Reservoir, which we now know as Lewisville Lake.
Lake Dallas was incorporated in 1965 and has grown steadily since. The 2020 Census counted 7,708 residents. In 2009, a 1.7-mile bridge across Lewisville Lake opened, connecting Lake Dallas and Little Elm once again.
From its railroad roots to today's lakeside community, Lake Dallas is a great place to call home, and we're proud to celebrate Halloween with our neighbors there.
See you Thursday!
