Moving FAQ

Straight answers about MoveCo prices, deposits, packing, storage and damage protection. We are a real local Lewisville mover since 2001, not a broker.

Are you a real moving company or a broker?

Yes. MoveCo (MOVECONET LLC) is a real local mover with our own full-time crew and our own trucks. We are not a broker. We have been moving North Texas families since January 2001.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. TxDMV 006044279C, USDOT 1432374, MC 541225. We carry TransGuard cargo coverage ($50,000 per Captain) and $2 million in general and auto liability.

What does a move cost?

2 movers and a truck: $125 per hour, plus a $150 truck fee in the Metroplex ($129 with a mailer or red coupon). 3 movers: $175 per hour. 4 movers: $250 per hour. There is a 3-hour minimum. The first hour is not free.

What is the truck fee?

The truck fee is $150 for moves in the Metroplex ($129 with a mailer or red coupon). Outside the Metroplex, the office calculates mileage. There is no separate travel fee inside the Metroplex.

When does the clock start and stop?

We use GPS. The clock runs from arrival at your pickup to departure at your drop-off.

Do weekends or holidays cost more?

Weekends are the same rate. Holidays and evenings cost more and are quoted on request.

Hourly or exact price: which should I choose?

Both work. Hourly: you pay for the time used. Exact price (itemized): we build a binding price from your inventory, addresses, and any stairs or long walks. Binding itemized quotes are preferred when possible. In-home estimates are free and are best for big houses and long-distance moves.

Is the estimate free?

Yes. In-home estimates are free.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. $100 for a local move, $500 for long distance. The deposit is refundable if you cancel at least a week ahead. Rescheduling is free. The deposit is a token, not a penalty. It is lost on a no-show.

How and when do I pay?

We accept check (with date of birth and driver's license approval), credit or debit card, Zelle, and cash. There is no card fee. Payment is due at drop-off, before unloading.

How far ahead should I book?

Book 10 days to 2 weeks ahead when you can. We can hold a date up to six months out. Same-day or next-day moves: call the office and we will check with dispatch.

How do I cancel or change my date?

Call the office at 972-250-1100. There is no reschedule fee. Cancel at least a week ahead to get the deposit back. A no-show loses the deposit.

What time will the crew arrive?

The crew usually arrives between 8 and 10 AM (we dispatch around 7 AM).

What should I have ready, and do I need to be home?

Have boxes sealed and taped, furniture empty (clothes may stay in drawers), TVs disconnected, and nothing plugged in. Be home, or send a representative. We do four walk-throughs: at the start (contracts and load), after loading, at drop-off for layout, and a final empty-truck check.

Do you take furniture apart? How do you protect my home?

Standard disassembly is free. Complex, IKEA, or Allen-screw items cost extra. We protect floors, walls and furniture with blankets and shrink wrap.

Do you pack? What do boxes and packing cost?

Yes. Full-service packing is recommended and quoted itemized; the packing crew usually comes 1–2 days before the move. We-pack rates: small $10, medium $12, large $14, dish pack $30, wardrobe $30, picture box $25. Boxes sold on the website: $1.99 / $2.99 / $3.99, with 20% off when you have a quote, and free Metroplex delivery over $175. Packing-only jobs are available. Unpacking is separate and billed hourly.

Do you offer storage?

Yes. Climate-controlled storage; a 10×20 is about $290 per month, and the estimator quotes the right size. We also move you into or out of a storage unit. Blankets stay free in our storage; $15 each if left in yours, with $7.50 credited back on your next move.

Is there anything you won't move?

We do not move jewelry, cash, firearms, ammunition, fuel, propane, paint, pesticides, chemicals, medications, important documents, or other high-value or unsafe items. Please move jewelry, cash and papers yourself. Plants are fine on local moves if they have been dry for 3 days; we do not take plants out of state.

Do you move pianos, safes, TVs or appliances?

Pianos: upright or small spinet about $100; baby grand about $300; concert grand is custom (we need the weight). Gun safes and heavy safes are case by case. Standard TVs can be blanket-and-shrink-wrapped (saves the $70 box); mirrors and artwork can be boxed or custom-crated. Washer/dryer disconnect and reconnect is free as a courtesy; you own the water and electrical risk.

What areas do you serve?

All of North Texas. We also do long-distance moves nationwide in the lower 48 when the move starts or ends in North Texas. Long-distance moves start with a free in-home estimate. Outside the Metroplex, pricing is hourly or a custom quote from the office.

What happens if something gets damaged?

Standard protection of 60 cents per pound is included. On itemized moves we also offer an in-house repair-or-replace guarantee, case by case. You can add stated-value valuation by listing items with dollar amounts; the office will quote the cost. To file a claim, call the office and email the claim form, your statement, photos, and the driver statement. You have 90 days to file. Most claims are settled in about two weeks. Mediation is available through the BBB or the State of Texas.

Can you send a certificate of insurance to my building?

Yes. We carry $2 million in general liability. An emailed COI PDF is free. Naming an additional insured is a $100 fee. You reserve the elevator or loading dock and coordinate with your leasing office. Parking permits are your responsibility; in North Texas the front door is usually fine.

How do I leave a review or get help after the move?

You will get a review list when the move is done. Leave a review on Google, Angi, Yelp, BBB, or Facebook. For any follow-up, call 972-250-1100. You will also get an invoice and receipt. Empty wardrobes and dish packs come back free; trash haul-off is extra; folded boxes can be dropped at the office or picked up for a small fee.
